Even though there was a limited schedule played and the entire season was pushed back to the spring, the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association put together all-state teams for each of the eight-classes in football for the 2020-21 school year.

Forty players from the A Sideline View area made the grade either on the first team or the honorable mention lists in 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A.

Here's a quick look at the players and the stats that were available.

In Class 1A you have to go a bit north to find first team member Jarrett Robertson of Moweaqua Central A&M.

The 6-foot junior was an offensive lineman and kicker for the unbeaten (6-0) Raiders in the spring for head coach Brent Weakly and will be a big part of the program's success this coming fall.

Robertson made 29-of-32 extra points and hit 1-of-2 field goal attempts for a team that outscored its opponents 267-88.

Defensively he had 17 solo tackles and 17 assists and he recovered two fumbles, one for a 39 yard touchdown.

“Jarrett is a two-year starter for us, started for our state runner-up team and is our best football player,” said Coach Weakly. “He has a competitiveness that tries to make himself and his teammates better. I'm lucky that I get to coach him for one more season.”

The 1A list of honorable mention has some additional kids from this area.

Camden Biggs of Dupo is a 5-foot-9 170 pound senior running back led the Tigers to a 3-3 mark with an outstanding final prep season running the ball.

The Warriors ended up 4-2 in the LIC for head coach Jay Bohner.

Toledo Cumberland is part of the Lincoln Prairie Conference and the Pirates went 6-0 this season, thanks in part to the play of 5-foot-11 junior linebacker Iysten Syfert.

Syfert played middle linebacker for a team that allowed only 22 total points in six games, all victories as he made 57 tackles, with a pair of sacks, two interceptions and he scored a pair of defensive touchdowns and a safety.

Looking at the 2A first-team list four players from three teams in the ASV area made the first team.

He completed 39-of-75 passes for an additional 619 yards.

Brown was also an honorable mention all-state selection in basketball.

Nokomis/Ramsey also finished unbeaten in the spring due in part to the play of 5-foot-9 junior running back Landon Engleman.

Engleman ran for 118.7 yards a game for the Redskins and ended up with 711 yards on 82 carries for an 8.7 yards per carry average.

Engleman helped led Coach Paul Watson's club to a 6-0 spring.
